Juventus – Roma Preview
Juventus hosts Roma at the Allianz Stadium in a match from the 8th round of the Serie A. We will get you a preview of this game in these soccer betting winning tips. Let’s go, shall we?
Juventus had a really slow start of the season since the return of the head coach Massimiliano Allegri. The Bianconeri won just one point in their first three games, but lately they started to get back on their feet. Juve won three consecutive times, so now they are 7th in the standings with 11 points won. This puts them 10 points behind the leader Napoli, though – not a gap they would like to have between them and the top.
Before the international break Juventus enjoyed their third consecutive win in the league. The Bianconeri faced Torino in the local derby and managed to clinch a difficult 1-0 win at the Olimpico. The only goal in the game was scored just four minutes before the end when Manuel Locatelli executed an assist from Federico Chiesa. The two Euro 2020 winners basically decided the game in Juventus’ favour.
In this game Max Allegri continued to rotate his centre-backs. This time he gave a rest to Leonardo Bonucci and started with Matthijs de Ligt alongside Giorgio Chiellini. Allegri is aware that both Chiellini and Bonucci need more rest because of their age, so that’s exactly what he’s doing at the moment. Luckily he has a young centre-back like De Ligt who can play more often.
Alvaro Morata is missing the next game because of injury, but most likely Paulo Dybala will be back to face Roma after the international break. The Argentine striker missed the Turin derby, but he should be ready to face the Wolves. Most likely he will partner Federico Chiesa in attack while Moise Kean could sit on the bench again.
Roma are doing well since the arrival of the legendary Jose Mourinho at the manager position. The Wolves won five of their seven matches so far and this puts them on 4th place in the standings. Roma are 6 points behind the leader Napoli, but the season long and they’d have enough time to reduce this gap. All they need is consistency and positive results.
Before the break Roma secured their 5th win for the season. Mourinho’s boys hosted Empoli at the Olimpico and celebrated a comfortable 2-0 win. Lorenzo Pellegrini opened the score in the first half while Henrikh Mkhitaryan doubled the lead in the beginning of the second half. The Armenian played a really good game because he also assisted for the first goal.
Jose Mourinho used this game to make some curious decisions regarding his line-up. He gave a starting spot to the 20-years old midfielder Ebrima Darboe who was picked ahead of Euro 2020 winner Bryan Cristante. Stephan El Shaarawy also started from the bench, but he replaced Nicolo Zaniolo five minutes before the end.
What Jose Mourinho must work on is his team’s defending. Roma has conceded eight goals in seven matches played and that’s not entirely good. Just for comparison – the leader Napoli conceded just three times since the beginning of the campaign. Mourinho is well-known for his
abilities to impose a good efficiency in defense, so that’s exactly what he should do now.
That’s the soccer betting winning tips for the Serie A derby between Juventus and Roma at the Allianz Stadium. As a former manager of Inter Milan that’s a special game for Mourinho. It’s also a great tactical duel between him and Massimiliano Allegri – two of the best coaches in Italy at the moment.
